MOSIRIA PROMISES TO HELP MAN BEHIND GIANT BUDDHA COSTUME SECURE ADVERTISING GIGS
Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has promised to help Kienyeji Smarter, the man behind the viral giant Buddha-like costume, secure advertising opportunities with companies.
Nairobi County Chief Officer for Customer Engagement and Citizen Service Geoffrey Mosiria has offered to help the young man behind the giant Buddha-like costume that recently attracted attention on Nairobi streets secure advertising opportunities.
The man, identified as Kienyeji Smarter, has gained attention for walking around Nairobi’s Central Business District in a distinctive giant costume paired with oversized metallic shoes. His unusual appearance has drawn crowds and sparked conversations online.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, September 24, Mosiria praised Smarter for using creativity to earn a living. He noted that the young creator had already created employment for two people—a photographer and a videographer.
Mosiria appealed to companies to consider giving the creator advertising opportunities, saying his unique appearance could be turned into a platform for commercial work.
He also promised to personally approach some companies to explore possible advertising deals for the young creator.
The development comes shortly after Smarter explained that his unusual appearance is intended to entertain people and offer them a moment of relief from the pressures of daily life. He has also described the costume as part of his creative identity.
Mosiria further called for greater support for young people who are using creativity and digital content to create income opportunities, arguing that unconventional creative work can provide livelihoods for both creators and those working with them.
For Kienyeji Smarter, Mosiria’s intervention could potentially turn the attention generated by his viral appearances into commercial opportunities, although any advertising deals remain at the proposal stage.
