Fresh cracks emerged in the opposition ranks on Wednesday after MP Anthony Kibagendi publicly accused former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of intimidating smaller communities and attempting to dictate terms within the anti-government alliance.

Kibagendi, speaking firmly, said leaders from smaller ethnic groups feel sidelined and will no longer tolerate what he described as intimidation by the former DP.
“Wewe Rigathi Gachagua, sisi kama makabila madogo, we are feeling that you are intimidating us. We have tremendous respect for you but we will not allow you to continue intimidating other principals in the opposition!” Kibagendi declared.

“Rigathi, kabla utoke serikalini nilikuja kwa ofisi yako mkiwa na Silvanus Osoro, nikakwambia nyinyi ni one-term. Na sasa umekuja upinzani kutupanga. Nakwambia lazima tukae kwa meza, tuheshimiane, ndio tuweze kumtoa Ruto,” the MP added.
