For every parent, seeing a child earn a place at university is a moment of pride and hope. But for one widow in Basi Boitangare, that dream has been overshadowed by loss, displacement, and uncertainty. Instead of preparing her children for the next chapter of their education, Jackline Moraa Mosiori is fighting to keep their dreams alive.

Jackline says her life took a devastating turn after the death of her husband. She claims that shortly after his burial, her late husband's brother chased her and her children from their matrimonial home and took over the family's land and livestock, leaving them homeless and without any source of livelihood.

According to Jackline, the family was forced to seek refuge at an orphanage as they struggled to rebuild their lives. She says the loss of their home and property has made it impossible for her to raise university fees for her children despite their outstanding academic performance.
One of her children has secured admission to Tangaza University, while another is set to join Kisii University. However, without financial support, she fears their dreams of higher education could come to an abrupt end.

Jackline also says she lives in constant fear and cannot return to her matrimonial home, alleging that her late husband's brother has threatened her with violence should she attempt to go back.

Overcome with emotion, the widow broke down in tears as she appealed to Kenyans for help.
"Wakazi wenzangu na Wakenya wote, sina mbele wala nyuma. Nimebaki nikihangaika mchana na usiku. Tafadhali naomba mnisaidie."
Now, with nowhere else to turn, Jackline is appealing to well-wishers to help educate her children and give them a chance to pursue the future they have worked so hard to achieve.
